F-10 snap2 X startup fails for Intel 845G chipset

System is Compaq EVO D510.
CPU: Intel Pentium 4 (Prescott) 2.5GHz
Memory: 2 GB
Video chipset: Intel 845G

Anaconda falls back to text mode.  Installed system fails to start
the X server.  Running startx from the text-mode login results in:

Under CentOS 5.2 and Fedora 8 the X server works fine. (Never tried F-9.)
