That's expected, s-c-d cannot configure RandR 1.2-based drivers
correctly. Use 'xrandr' at the command line or gnome-display-properties.

Try 'nomodeset' as a kernel parameter, if this is a recent thing. If
that fixes it, file a bug explaining the symptoms and the workaround.
