I have never had so many problems with a RedHat install since I started with
3.0.3 (Picasso). I did a fresh install of RedHat 7 and have had lots of
problems. I hope someone can help.
1) Lilo fails at the first L. No 2-digit error code. I tried rerunning lilo,
replacing lilo.conf with the one from my previous and then running lilo again.
It runs with no errors given, but it just won't start up at all. I can boot
from a floppy, though. The lilo documentation says this error is usually due to
bad disk geometry, but I haven't changed the disk from before. All I did was
add a partition at the end of the disk. (I deleted partition hda10 and replaced
it with hda10 and hda11.)
2) I can't get the wheel on my mouse (MS Intellimouse) to be recognized as the
third button. XF86Config has this:
Option "Device" "/dev/mouse"
Option "Protocol" "IMPS/2"
This is a large pain in the neck, as you can imagine. No copying and pasting
:-{.
If anyone can help with this I'd really appreciate it.

As they strolled out of sight,
"Merry Christmas to all --
You take credit cards, right?"
