rh7.0 and systems with promise technology ide cards

Hi.  I would like to upgrade a Redhat system which is on a system
whose hard disks are all on a Promise Technology 2066 Ultra ATA 66 ide
card.

In 6.2 I was able to compile a kernel and place it on the boot disk,
but in 7.0 I have been unable to patch the ide patch for 2.2.16 into
the kernel to gain the promise cardsupport.

Any assistance would be appreciated.
