Sure, not a problem, I run both an older Athlon 550 (Slot-A) and an
Athlon 800 (Socket-A).

And FYI- to get 6.2 to boot after install, use 'linux x86_serial_no=1'
at the lilo prompt. Then add it to the append statement in lilo.conf, or
immeiately upgrade teh kernel to 2.2.16-3.
