RE: Rebuilding the installation kernel

I have used the following:

     mount -o loop -t iso9660 <isofilename.iso> <mount point>

I tried this once, but didnt work in my case... Might in yours though!

The thing is to "mount" the /mnt/cdrom/images/boot.img to a temp directory
and then replace the kernel. I don?t remember the command but I found this
on www.google.com, try searching for it there. (mount -t loop... something)

Subject: Rebuilding the installation kernel

Hi all,

Before I can install Guinness, I have to re-compile the kernel on the
bootdisk so I can include the patches for Speakup
http://www.linux-speakup.org/. On previous versions, i have had limited
success by substituting the versionBOOT.h, I think that was its name, for
the version.h found in linux/include. Even then, I still had trouble
loading modules when they were needed. I know if I could get to the
person who maintains the installation disks, I'd be ok. Any ideas?
