personal/home systems and run logwatch/logcheck which email logging data
to a user email account.
I cant answer the linuxconf question because 1.) I dont/wont use that
piece of software and 2.) obviously have never given such rights to a
user. I can take a look see, but if I recall correctly most of the modules
were diabled by default for linuxconf in RH7.0. I will check to see
if/how it works under RH6.2.
Under the RH6.2 the linuxconf help file only states that this option allows you
to view logs "managed" by linuxconf, which in effect means you will
still be denied access to /var/log/messages which is managed by
syslog. But it will give yoou access to /var/log/netconf.
I dont imagine this has changed in 7.0.
