I prefer unsubscribing via email without password.
And I'd like if there's the list name in the subject.

I agree too John. I preferred the older method where a single
simple message sent to the list-request address did the job. The
password is unnecessary IMHO, but it is there. When you
_subscribe_ to a Red Hat list, if you do:
subscribe <yourname>
it will use your name as the password, and you can later use:
unsubscribe <yourname>
to get off. I think that something like the following should be
added to the bottom of the list messages:
===============================================================
To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send a message to:
To: guinness-list-request@redhat.com with the subject line set
to: unsubscribe yourname
===============================================================
Or something like that. Even better, get rid of the passwords
entirely. They give zero security whatsoever, and they are sent
out via plain text email unencrypted once a month to boot. I
have managed to "deal" with the system, but I do not enjoy
it. It's inconvenienced me at least 5 times now. I also do not
like the web based https interface, since I do not normally have
X running.
What are other people's thoughts about the current mailing list
subscribe/unsubscribe method?
Do you prefer the web based method, or do you prefer to
subscribe/unsubscribe via email? If the latter, do you prefer to
have a password, or no password? If people speak their minds on
this, perhaps things may change.
Just a thought.
