I'm personally not a big fan of IRC, or instant messaging in all it's
various flavors.

Not my decision to make. I get out of work here around 6:30PM, and I'm
often answering these mailing list questions till midnight on my own
time- I get paid to answer calls from users who have purchased
Pay-Per-Incident or Per-Server contracts. (I have no life) I don't think
I could answer my callers and multiple incomming IRC people at the same
time without my head exploding rather spectacularly. I'm rather attached
to my head, so I'm afraid that if someone set up IRC for that purpose I
would not be able to participate, sorry.
