I don't expect _instant_ answers, I never said I do. And I know
the specifics of mailing lists all too well. But I would expect at least
some replies with any hints or tips within, say, one week. The timespan
between my first letter and that rant of mine is over three weeks.
Three weeks of silence. Only one Calvin said he may be able to help,
and you, John, said "Weird. Why would you do all that stuffing round?
Set it up properly and leave it alone.", which is not much help either,
because, like I said, I _need_ to do it that way and explained why.
You didn't comment on that, so I assumed you understand. Judging from
your later replies to my mails here on this list, I know you *can* be
helpful, so I won't comment on this reply of yours any more.
I understand you, people - here is one who didn't get a reply to some
stupid question and makes big fuss about it - but please also try to
understand me. There is nothing more frustrating (IMHO) then a case
when something goes wrong (from time to time, even, not regularly)
and you don't know why, and nobody will help you.

"I don't know. But I should think it would be *fascinating* to find out."
