You (and I) are looking for a functional equivalent of "Antigen" which works
with Exchange Server. Free? Impossible. Symantec and McAfee spend millions
maintaining their virus signature files. So much, in fact, that Symantec is
starting to charge for updates.

If I were you, though, getting client-side anti-virus software for your
workstations would be a high priority. Personally I prefer Norton, but almost
anything is better than nothing. Norton's LiveUpdate makes it easy to stay current.
