I just successfully worked through that problem yesterday, and am facing
another one I might have to post here on the list (in fact, it's the reason
I joined the list).

The machines in question are running RH 7.0 and the commercial version
(under a free license for universities) of ssh 2.4

On the ssh server machine, you need a .shosts file (I think it goes into
~/.ssh2/) that lists the system name and user name pair(s) that you will
allow to connect without a passphrase. You also, of course, need the public
key of the user that will be logging in and the proper entries in the
~/.ssh2/authorization file.

On the ssh client machine, you need to generate the keypair with "ssh-keygen
-P" (-P creates one without a password) and, of course, put a reference to
that private key in ~/.ssh2/identification.

If you need more information, please just say so. Today I'm too far behind
in my work to look up the specifics and post the actual contents of the
config files for you.
