I've never used boot magic, but you may want to try their website
(powerquest.com). A quick search there gave this:

which says that you need to put lilo on the Linux partition, not on the MBR.
You probably need to know which partition it is on by looking at
/etc/lilo.conf boot=/dev/hda?
The HSP means that it is a winmodem. Check out linmodems.org.
