[K12OSN] Upgraded - now not running!

Hi,

I had a working server running SuSE 7.0 and it gave me no trouble. I ran the 
upgrade to SuSE 7.3 and, although everything seems to be correct, when I try 
to run up a remote terminal it starts OK then stops with the error "Warning: 
Unable to open initial console."

I have changed nothing and expect to get the XDM/KDM logon invitation. Any 
clues what I need to do before I restore the old system? I can access the X 
server fine remotely, so it seems to be something to do with firing up the 
terminals.
