Hi,
I have been having trouble getting the 2nd cd down.
From perusing the workings of Download accelerators I have started to
wonder if it would be possible to split the iso image in such a way that
it can then be recombined post download. This way if the download dies
after a while I would only have to start the download from the beginning
of the part that failed instead of from the beginning. In other words,
split the iso image prior to download. then recombine after all the bits
are down.
In my situation the firewall at the place i work prevents the use of a
download accelerator. (I have been trying various combinations to try
to make it work but the correct incantation has eluded me up to now.)
Anyone with tips on how to make download accelerators work from behind a
firewall feel free to chip in :-) Better ideas welcomed.
If I cannot find a solution soon I guess I will have to spring for the
CD's... which may not be such a bad thing... I have a reluctance to use
paypal and this is all that has been keeping me back... which says more
about middle age than about paypal. Change and all that...
regards,
Hamish Kibblewhite
