Bert,
    nope. does rsync work socksified?  I think I can go out the 
firewall via socks.  I have been able to source a copy of disk2 
elsewhere in the meantime.  There is more than one downloader of this 
distro in New Zealand...  I'll be looking into rsync shortly though. 
Don't want to have to download the whole thing again  Thanks.
