Re: [K12OSN] Fedora/Beta 15 vs. 3com NIC

Hi James,

Please see my earlier post KUDZU/NEAT/? this seems to be a problem even if you do an update/upgrade from V3.1.2 !

For those that might be interested, I have a 10Mbit 3com EtherLink XL

PCI

(3C900-TPO) for my internet connection. It will not work unless kudzu

is

prevented from running at boot. I don't know what kudzu is doing to the
configuration that is preventing the NIC from working properly and
obtaining an IP address, but it seems to be a known issue (as my Google
searching has shown) so hopefully a good fix will be forthcoming.

Not personally, but I have some 3com ISA cards I could try...

Apparently though, this kudzu issue does indeed affect more then just the
particular 3com card I mentioned:

I don't believe this is a kernel bug, I believe it's directly related to
kudzu auto-configuration. This card worked just fine on my old RH
9/K12LTSP
3.1.2 install. When I moved to Fedora it broke...
