RE: [K12OSN] Microsoft Terminal Services

Yes. You can access MS Terminal Services from your Linux workstation with
RDesktop.

You will need a terminal services client license for any computer that will
access term services this way. (That is exactly why we are all testing and
implementing K12LTSP as fast as we can.)

It does work. RDesktop works very well with terminal services.

Subject: [K12OSN] Microsoft Terminal Services

The district we are affiliated with uses student information software called
SASI. (No, I don't know much about it.) There is a special program installed
on windows machines that connects to the SASI server in our building and
student information is updated via a T1 line back and forth to the district.

They are now offering SASI through Terminal Services so we can eliminate the
cost for that T1 and access SASI over our internet connection. The thought
of having to buy five new windows machines and Terminal Services software so
folks can access SASI instead of the old windows machines and software we
are currently accessing SASI with.... Can our K12LTSP talk with their
Terminal Services?

Thanks for any input.
