I'm using the KDE desktop on K12LTSP and there is a keyboard
configuration tool.
I loaded three keyboards( CA, French Canadian and French) but to no
avail, the icon pop on the system tray (or what ever you call it) but
the keyboard refused systematically to change, it always stucked to
US. Even if i rebooted, my selected keyboards were ignored.
It used to work in KDE V2 on a stand alone.
i only briefly tried it with kde and seem to recall i had similar
problems ...
the 'xmodmap' command that i recommended actually comes from the
gnome-panel keyboard applet (click on properties of one of the keymaps
and it tells you the command that it runs ...).
i guess you could make your own icons for kde that would run the
'xmodmap' command when clicked. Let me know if you need more help ...
