[K12OSN] Newbie Needs Help with Workstation Login Hangup

I am a newbie with the K12 Terminal Server. We are
running Windows PC's and servers and I would like to
look at the alternatives.

I have set up a sample test server (1.4 GHZ Intel P4
with 256 MB Ram, Gforce 3 Video card, Dlink 530TX NIC
- obviously too small for a production server, but I
am wanting to test this with 2 or 3 clients.)

I am trying to connect with an identical workstation
through a 16 port 10/100 switch. I created a boot
floppy through the Rom-O-Matic site (for a D-Link 530
TX NIC card).

I then placed the floppy disk in the drive and allowed
the PC to boot to the floppy drive. I know that the
workstation is connecting to the server because the
Linux start screen appears (text that states that
Linux is decompressing, etc). It goes on for just a
little bit and then the screen goes black and all
activity stops. I apologize if this is a simple
question that was covered in a FAQ sheet, but I would
really like some help as I am very interested in this
project and would like to begin to move off of the
Windows platform. I have some limited Linux
experience, but I am far from a Linux expert. If you
need any more information about the configuration on
either the server or the workstations please feel free
to let me know and I will try to provide anything
needed. Thanks so much for your help and thanks so
much for providing a much needed alternative for
schools.
