Actually just starting the system & stopping kudzu in the service or in
the rc3 / rc5 level startup files would also work more siimply. The
issue is not in stopping kudzu but in the proper configuration of the
NICs. Since I don't know all the files that have to be edited/created it
is a little daunting. :-(

in /etc/sysconfig:
networks, ./network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0, and 1 and 2 ..., those are linked
to ./networking/devices/ifcfg-eth0 and 1 and 2 ..
/etc/modules.conf links actual hardware devices to logical names like eth0
that's it. i might have missed something. julius
