Re: [K12OSN] Random logouts, inability to log in

Julius,

Maybe you need another bottle or two :-) . Version 3.1.2 has been working well, but it seems that we've hit a few "snags" with 4.0. In spite of these issues I wouldn't stoop to compare it with M$, K12LTSP is still leagues above M$ and it is unfair to allow your frustration to impair your judgement, (booze - OK, frustration - NO) :-D
Just consider the numerous 1st releases of M$ and the countless crashes/destruction of systems...... :-P  . then talk to me about V4.0.

If it's any consolation I've been at it since last Friday upgrading and building 3 systems, and yes there were times when I wanted to just throw them out the "windozs" :-D . But then I thought about the numerous benefits the kids get from K12LTSP versus M$ and that this technology provides for a 300% increase in the number of computers in the schools and that in just one year we've increased the number of teachers using computers for their classes from one per week (M$ based systems) to nineteen per week (K12LTSP systems) and my sense of self-worth is quickly restored.. ;-)

Hang-in there Julius it is worth it. As an educator do you really want to create legions of M$-office automates or would you rather have technically well-rounded individuals ?

Norbert,
if I need to remove and recreate user accounts and mess with
lost mail and settings, this is *not* a production level system and should
not be deployed. At this point I can't even say "at least it's better than
M$", because it isn't - it is just as bad, only in different places.
