Any reason why using old PCs is not an option for your case?  Old PCs are very inexpensive and likely already abundant in Australia (as here in the USA).

Yeah. Just what I'm looking for.

Price seems right too but, $50-$100 to have one of those delivered in my 
end of the world (South Australia) is a bit prohibitive.
Does Disklessworkstations.com have any retail outlets 'down here' that 
might be able to save me a bit on transport? Alternatively, are there 
any other 'ozzies', lurking on this list, who might be interested in 
chipping in for a  larger order , so we can even the expenditure a litle?
