   IMO, remote desktop is much more tolerable than vnc. The mouse
pointer is not moved by the remote end... the pointer is controlled by
the client, and the motion & clicks are sent to the server behind the
scenes.
   As a side note, I too am working towards a windowless network. I just
formatted my Win2000 server, and put K12LTSP on it. I'm planning to
network boot a few machines, and other computers will have access to
Linux via VNC. (for visitors, of course!) LOL
I plan to have a SMALL windows XP box (slow and laggy so people will
want to network boot it!) and have CyGwin on it for accessing the
terminal server where all the REAL apps are. Haha. I still am not sure
if I can part with XP on my laptop though. :( I need Quicken.
