Re: [K12OSN] rdesktop

NCS uses Windows Terminal Services to provide support for Windows-based apps. We use rdesktop to connect. Works very well with a couple of caveats:

1) 256 colors. Not a real issue, but screen captures from the windows session can look bad.
2) The primary use at NCS is for the typing package the tech teacher prefers (Type To Learn from Sunburst). I haven't had time to try and get TTL running via wine. Aside: TTL isn't/wasn't supported in a Windows TS environment. NCS is the only location (according to Sunburst) that is running the package this way. The main problem is kids holding down a key and getting a stuck key error message. Can't recover without exiting the rdesktop session which must be killed since the session quits responding.
3) Sound, but this is apparently an issue even with MS's client, and I don't want to move to 2003.

Sincerely,
Dave Hopkins
