as a way to support the Red Hat (linux) movement, I always bought
at least one copy of all my distributions at a retail store.

it is in the sense that when wandering around spreading the Linux message
it is ALWAYS easier to tell folks "you can get it at "whatever compu
store" in the area. Yesterday I needed a Modem "NOW" so I ran over to
CompUSA and picked up one (overpriced) but got to talking with someone
else there who was trying to move up a little and had no clue about how
easy Linux had become, he still thought it was the "geeks OS" not sure
how much he will use it but he walked out with a boxed RH9 prof edition.
personally I have never been comfortable with downloading an OS, and it
may be a little thing but I want a real paper manual, gotta be the
ultimate oxymoron, when you can't get your computer running your expected
to go on line to get help, DUH! if my computer was working so that I
could get on line I wouldn't need the on line help! now personally it is
not a major thing since I have several computers but that is the exception
not the rule...Linux will NEVER be mainstream until it can be a simple
point of sale purchase......
