Title: Weekday warrior - fighting my
own?
Hi folks
The incredible folks at www.symbio-technologies.com helped this
weekend warrior tremendously. The server that (after my CUPS damage)
was splashing between text and graphic login displays is now
responding to the monitor attached to the server -I still need to
figure why the remote workstations are not logging in...
With security at the switches being implemented at random in my
district, does anybody know which ports MUST be open for the K12LTSP
login process to work? I have a funny feeling that ports have been
closed at the router & switch level throughout the school I am
working with without prior notification (talk about arrogance)... I
will be running a couple of tests tomorrow, but naturally, the more
ammo I have the better I can determine how to fix this situation
(workstations, not arrogance ;-)
If any of the gurus are near phones and would not mind helping
out, please email me privately so I can get your number and perhaps
call you Tuesday AM. My gratitude is often expressed in restaurant
gift certificates.
Thanks and cheers
