I would also like to chime in that I would like this as well.  

That said, would it be possible to 
1) Install SO7
2) run install for generic user (test account)
3) copy the new directories created for this account to all existing users' home directories
4) reset ownership for these directories

I haven't tried this, but it *might* work.
