[K12OSN] Mac OS X Server Question

Just curious, has anyone on this list upgraded a os x server 10.2.8 
installation to 10.3.x?  I'm running a g4 xserve with 10.2.8 with afp 
for mac os 9 clients, and a fink-installation of samba-ldap for a 
windows primary domain controller.  Over on the apple lists, I know 
there's a lot of recommendations to backup users/files/etc.. and wipe 
the system and start fresh, but I'm curious if anyone has tried it on 
this list and how it went?
