I have an Xserve....my only issue is that it uses IDE drives....does the G5 use SCSI? That will make the biggest difference. Let me know if I can help test it for you.

Nope, it's SATA. I'm a little surprised, but Apple claims it's hot-pluggable. Unfortunately, Apple won't release the docs for the HW so that GNU/Linux can fully support the hot-plug functionality.

I expect to begin this week.
