We have 200 nodes and I'd guess we have had 150 concurrent users at one
time.

Both

As per David Trask's suggestion we are using the unsupported developer
version of ESmith with the plug-in from dungog. It has a nice web
interface for editing the denied and exception list.

Our box is a PIII 650 256 MB Ram and one 10 GB IDE drive.

It works well for us PK - 8. We have had some inappropriate images via
google image search. Not much that can be done about that. I am
interested in Eric's latest project that will set google to use strict
filtering.

I set dg up to be as strict as possible and add exceptions as requested
by teachers. We had one interesting failure a couple of months back. One
of the students pulled up some Marilyn Manson lyrics from
songlyrics.com. The funny part of this is that he printed them to the
printer in the office and the principal found them. Anyhow I added
songlyrics.com to the denied list and it still came through. Still need
to look into this.

Regards,
John
