This may be obvious, but I thought I'd spell it out anyways.

You can use Dans Guardian and squidGuard at the same time. DG works
as a front-end to squid, SG is a squid plugin. These two approaches
do not conflict with each other.

The only gotcha is that the logging in SG will always record the
client IP address as 127.0.0.1 (the DG process), so you will want
to move as much of the logic/filtering into DG as possible (assuming
you are concerned about logging, of course).

Using SG with just my Google SafeSearch hack would work well, since
there is no logging involved in that particular URL rewrite.
