[K12OSN] Linuxes on Apple xServe?

Hi all,

 

Just wondering if the Apple xServe can handle running Linux operating systems, like K12Linux or eSmith? I would assume it can since it's still a PowerPC chip, but I'm not sure. Can someone please advise?
