My first test shows that Bart's patch fixed the descriptor leak, but DID
NOT fix the session count bug.

I assume the patch applied correctly, since there was a change of
behavior on the descriptor leak, but I will double-check that this was
not just a mistake at my end.

I see neither the file descriptor leak nor the session count bug with
George Lebl's patch.
