Re: [K12OSN] Windows NT DHCP

Okay,

I believe I have tracked down most of my problem. I’m using a windows NT DHCP server.. and when I add a reservation based on MAC and set the hostname.. when that machine etherboots it’s hostname is set to the hex value of the hostname!!!

We use NT for DHCP across the rest of our machines, and when I introduced the LTSP DHCP server, while I could get LTSP clients to only use the etherboot DHCP server, I couldn’t seem to prevent normal DHCP clients from sometimes using LTSP as well..

Has anyone encountered similar? I could always write something to turn the hex value into decimal.. but that’s a bit nutty..

Hello Luke,

Are you using a ¨default¨ installation of K12LTSP, without any special tweaks? In the default install, DHCP doesn´t run on the outside interface of a K12LTSP server. Also, are you sure you don´t have the NICs backwards?
