Does anyone here use rdesktop to connect to Windows 2000 Server? If so,
how do you go about licensing? I'm setting up K12LTSP servers to serve
about 800 terminals. Of those 800 terminals I would like to run rdesktop
at maximum 50 concurrent users. I know that MS is rather tricky when it
comes to licensing. In my case I fear that I would have to buy 800
client licenses, because all of those 800 terminals /*can*/ log on the
Windows server.
Now this would completely overtrhow my budget and would also make the
whole K12lTSP environment pointless. I only need to use a few
applications on Windows - some specific schools programs.
So, do any know how to go about this?
Per user or per device - there is no concurrent licensing scheme for
TSCAL's. And, to add insult to injury, make sure you have a regular
server CAL for each of those devices/users as well.
