[K12OSN] k12ltsp 4.0 and S3 video and Open Office

I have installed k12ltsp 4 and had problems with my older terminals that
had S3 video cards. I installed the XF86 config fix from Jim and
everything worked fine. The problem I am having now is that any of my
terminals that have an S3 video run open office extremely slow (it opens
fine but the menus open very slow and the mouse starts to lag behind). My
other terminals that have Matrox video do not have this problem. Any
ideas?? 
Another issue I have noticed on all my terminals is that once the logon
screen has blanked out and you reawaken the terminal  you get an error the
first time you put in the username that authentication has failed. When
you reenter the user name a second time it works fine. Thanks for all the
