[K12OSN] CRC error on booting

Happy New Year to ALL!

Now, those who have given much advice to me about why this blasted
computer I have will not boot but gives a CRD error. . .

Many told me to change the CD-ROM. I didn't think that would do it since
the CD-ROM wasn't being used during bootup, just during install. I was
told that a CD-ROM could be sending corrupted data when writing the boot
stuff so that is what was causing the CRC error.

Well, here's what all I have don to this thing but still to no avail.

First, tried a different CD set to install (K12LTSP 3.1.1) Did the exact
same thing. Retried with the K12LTSP4.x set. Many times, changing drive
parameters and etc in BIOS (probably did 30 minimum installs) and to no
avail. Finally set the BIOS back how it should be.

Tried another install. CRC error.

I was told to do an NFS install from another computer over the network.

Finally got that configured, and did the install. CRC error on booting.

But the NFS source was from the same CD I was trying to use on the
machine.

So I sat there and did an FTP install from K12Linux.mesd.x.x etc. (takes a
*long time*) and upon booting. . . CRC error.

But this time, I decided to let it make a boot floppy and try to boot
with that.

Installed again from the CD-ROM, and let it make the boot floppy. The
system boots fine with the floppy. It just won't boot from the hard drive.
It also runs fine once booted with no errors.

When booting from the hard drive:

It goes to loading vmlinuz . . . . .

CRC error

System Halted.

What now?

Thanks again!
