Dear Folks,
would you please take a look at the memory usage on your servers?
I have downgraded a server to 3.1.2 with the effect of using about *half*
the memory as with 4.0.0, same job mix, same users. Is this just me, or is
there something unwholesome about the Fedora Core based system. Take a
look:
v.3.1.2:
10:17:37 up 19:13, 21 users, load average: 0.01, 0.07, 0.07
517 processes: 516 sleeping, 1 running, 0 zombie, 0 stopped
CPU0 states: 1.0% user 1.1% system 0.0% nice 0.0% iowait 97.2%
idle
CPU1 states: 0.5% user 0.1% system 0.0% nice 0.0% iowait 98.4%
idle
CPU2 states: 0.4% user 0.4% system 0.0% nice 0.0% iowait 98.2%
idle
CPU3 states: 0.3% user 0.4% system 0.0% nice 0.0% iowait 98.3%
idle
Mem: 3870568k av, 2171984k used, 1698584k free, 0k shrd, 488268k
buff
v.4.0.0 with 9 users, memory usage same as with 20 users:
