Re: [K12OSN] Argument against Microsoft?

Last year I had a Wind98se monstrosity in my classroom (and several Macs). Students working on the windows PC frequenlty lost their hard work due to crashes. It was heartbreaking. I can honestly say that it crashed at least once a week, usually several times.
I've been using Linux at home for two years now and haven't crashed my machine once.
That, and that fact that the proprietary equivalents of what I now have in OSS would cost me well over $3000, while I downloaded this for free, is all the argument I need.

BTW, I just got an order for a CD set from someone in Italy!
I hope they join the listserv (I always recommend they do and include the URL for the list in the letter I send with the software.)
