OK - I ready to give up. I tried K12LTSP V3.1.2 with the kitchen sink
kernel. I swapped the ram, cpu and nic from a good machine and nothing
changed the kernel panic message. What's left to try?

Just to make sure that the current roadmap for K12LTSP is clear....
K12LTSP v3.1.2 is the "stable" release.
K12LTSP v4.0.0 is the "latest-and-greatest" release.
The "proven stable" bits of K12LTSP v4.0 will be ported to Red Hat
Enterprise Linux 3.0. I hope to have something ready for testing by
the end of the week.
