My kids are trying to capture images off the 'net (Mozilla 1.2) and
paste them into OO.o documents. But they're having some difficulties -
lock ups, images not showing, etc. What's the best way to do this? Use
GIMP? (Then I have to worry about memory hogging AND that I've not
taught them how to use it). Or is there another way?
On my Windows98 machines, I also use Mozilla and OO.o, as well as GIMP,
BUT, I use XNView as a superfast image editor to quickly crop images and
save them to any format. What can I do in Linux?
Thanks!
Are you trying to copy-n-paste the images in? I've never had success
doing that. Sometimes copy-n-paste between apps doesn't always work for
me here (KDE/Klipper problem? I don't know.)
But they should be able to save the images to their home directory and
then include them in the OOo document, afaik, without too much difficulty.
I confess that I've had little success embedding images in OOo documents
on my OSX iBook for some reason, but I've never had trouble doing it on
my Linux box.
