Actually, afeter posting that message I got off my
lamer newbie butt-cheeks (well, actually, I AM still sitting on them)
and googled it and found this one: http://debian.tu-bs.de/knoppix/powerPC/
which I am now downloading.
Watch it be all in German or something (like the
Freeduc CD that is all in French).
Maybe I should dump that download and try the Gentoo one.

Hmm. The Freeduc CD I downloaded was in Engrish.

Actually, like Knoppix, Freeduc is multi-lingual. Try this at bootup -
boot:en
It's a case of RTFM, I'm afraid ;-)
But the manual was in French.
And I couldn't read it until I booted the disc.
(I speak French anyway, so it's no excuse...)
