[K12OSN] Gnome - Change default Lauch Icons - K12LTSP 4.0.0

I've been googling for about an hour now and havn't been able to find an answer to this questions:

1. I'm running K12LTSP 4.0.0 with the Gnome desktop. How do I change the default Launch Icons for new users in Gnome?  I've tried copying the contents of ~/.gnome2  to /etc/skel/  but havn't had any success yet.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

2. Same thing for default desktop icons (I suspect the answer to this one will be similar).
