I had one of those old Compaq all-in-one units at home using it with
K12LTSP and it worked very good for a 486DX33 with 16MB RAM. But it would
occasionally just reboot. . . back to the login it would go. I tried
everything I could to make it work but as you have also found, upping the
memory to 32MB stopped that problem. It would run all day if I set it to
start in runlevel 3 and did everything from the shell. But if X was
running. . .
