Not at all. I suggest something that is higher-level than that and
leverages the installers and packages that already exist on a given
distro and would basically do the legwork that would be required of
someone who uses that distro to do the installation and configuration
manually for them.
And yes, it would be a lot of work, and the short-term gain would be
minimal, but in the long term, I believe this would simplify maintenance
and prevent the decisions of other projects or companies from having
such a huge impact on this one.
