You could also put a second video card in and use Xinerama to place both 
monitors on the same screen space. That should also work. I'm not sure 
how to put such a custom section into XF86Config on a terminal, but I do 
know it can be done on a regular linux box. I had that set up once 
(accidentally) with my present computer.
