I am cross posting this to the ltsp lists as I got no response from the Crossover list and this software is essential for our school system which I need to get running by Monday.

I am running Ubuntu Feisty and CXL 6.1
I have installed a multimedia program provided by the New Zealand Ministry of Education that is based on shockwave director.
I installed it at home in single user mode and it runs well as on the main box as well as remotely with ltsp 5.
When I went to install it at school I chose multiuser managed mode. The root can run the program no problem from the server (but not from a thin client.)
For the end users (who are the ones who really matter), the program can be started but a system beep is heard and the program freezes when it starts. This is the same whether on the server or the thin client. I saw an error message box at one stage saying "I/O error"
I guess it is a permissions problem but I don't know where to start. Can anyone offer any tips how to fix this problem?
Thanks.

Update: If I wait a few minutes the program seems to respond temporarily before freezing again. The is no sound however and sound is essential.
