Getting install log on a remote machine

I'd be happy to help out, if you're looking; I have been meaning to implement
something like this on my own, but a little hesitant to jump right into
something I'm still feeling my way around.

Syslogd support I would think would be essential ... I don't know about any of
the others, for my part.
