 - Merge the patches for test cases into the corresponding
   patch for the API being tested
 - Pull in latest changes from remote driver client
 - Rebase wrt Matthias' RPC generator changes

I'm not posting the remote client / daemon conversion patches
here, since I want to get this core infrastructure merged
real soon and the client/daemon conversion would delay review
